Hi everyone,
I have a Theater 550 PRO (HW encoder) card, and am using full version of ChrisTV Pro 5.10.
I just would like to confirm:
Is my recorded quality the same regardless of mpeg decoder I am using during recording?
I believe that should indeed be the case (as its the card thats actually doing the encoding) - in which case, as I use chrisTV in background mode all the time, I can choose the fastest mpeg decoder and not worry about degrading my recording quality.
Can someone please confirm.
regards
Rana

Your TV card has an onboard MPEG hardware encoder and the TV stream is encoded to MPEG by the TV card and will not be affected by the CPU usage during recording. Of course the MPEG stream must be written to your HDD but this won't take so much CPU power.
Note : This happens only if you use the MPEG Hardware Recording mode.
