Tuner Recomendation For Laptop

I have ordred a laptop, which doesn't have a build in tv tuner.
I am about to buy a usb 2.0 or a card bus tuner card. I have an older version of christv on my pc, and I'm most likely going to buy a new version for the laptop. Does it matter if i buy a cheaper tuner, since i'm not going to use the original software. It looks like most of the produkts is based on the software. ´
Can anyone guide me in what to purchase. The laptop has a pentium T8300 processor, 4 Gb DDR 2 ram and a Nvidia 8600 GT graphics card whit 512 mb DDR 3 ram.
