Help For A Noob Please

Hi ! if any one can help me I would appriciate it - I would love to buy this SW if I can get it to work.

Im trying to capture TV from my UPC Digital TV box here in Ireland.
I dont need all the channels or anything like that. just the ability to capture sound and video via my composite connection from the Channel I am watching.

My set up is SCART out > COMPSOITE ADAPTOR (SET TO OUTPUT) > TV/CAPTURE CARD. I also have my red& white audio going into the TV card via a connector that merges the two.

Problem 1 - the Picture Quality is terrible, I somehow managed to get it right by messing with all the settings but its gone again. Its nto even watchable. any any one help me with the settings ?

Problem 2 I cant get any souund. I dont know anythhing about sound so I cant describe where Im going wrong.

If someone wants to VPN in and configure this or give me support on the phone I coiuld pay a small amount.
