Video stream capture goes wrong after +/- 4 GB

Post by Danv »

Hi Chris! I hope you have a moment to look into this.

The short story: When I record a day-long video stream, only some 5 and a half hours are recorded (and the last 47 minutes of those consists of separate fragments).

Long story:

I use Videotube Pro v. 14.24.0302 on Win11 Pro on an NTFS-formatted drive.

I'm capturing the stream from visdeurbel.nl (an underwater webcam in Utrecht, Netherlands). The stream is 1920x1080, bitrate 2082 kb/s. I obtain the stream address from Link Finder in Chrome mode. The stream address is: https://roundrobin3.videostreamingwowza ... ylist.m3u8

I started recording at 09:31 in the morning. I pressed Stop around 18:35. So, it should have recorded 9 hours of video. However, the actual duration of the recorded .mp4 is only 5:38 hours. So, a large part of the stream is missing. The size of the file is 4,74 GB (5.099.961.729 bytes).

The first 4:51 hours are recorded correctly. After that, the file repeatedly skips to later fragments. In all, it has recorded this footage:

09:39 - 14:59 (this part is good)
15:15 - 15:22
17:02 - 17:03
17:18 - 17:32
17:34 - 17:34
17:53 - 18:07
18:27 - 18:37

Hopefully you will be able to reproduce it. It would be great if Videotube could record at least 8 hours of a stream. Even better would be if it could run indefinitely, and if the user could specify a maximum file size, so that Videotube would automatically continue with a new .MP4 file when the current one has reached the size limit.

It's probably not a filesize issue, might be a live stream glitch. Check if it happens again.
Try to whitelist the folder where the recording is saved in your Antivirus.

EDIT: Their live streaming segments name is not consistent.

I see! Is there anything that you could do about that? (e.g. using your own file names to save the segments?)
