Someone mentioned this for OSD but the killer app here is integrating XMLTV and the Scheduler. You could then see your tv listings days in advance and schedule recordings or even integrated email or SMS reminders about upcomding tv shows using the agent.

You can use WebShifter for this :
WebShifter Website

It has support for ChrisTV and you can schedule recordings using the TV Guide.
