Browser Cannot connect with Proxy on

I recently started using Free proxy however if I try to browse internet explorer without it on I receive an error message:cannot connect to proxy through port :8130. If I turn on proxy it goes away. The free version cuts my speeds by 60% so I do not wish to have it on at all times and cant seem to fix
