Audio Video Sync issue with BBC iPlayer downloads

Post by hans302 »

Hi - Now that BBC iPlayer programmes can be downloaded as MP4 files directly into the main program (and not as Link Finder FLVs) There seems to be an issue with the Audio and Video synchronisation in the output files. (Around 1 second out).

Is this a known issue? As I have now had to go back to using LINK FINDER and downloading the FLV files and converting them with 3rd party software. (Sorry Chris - your conversion process is too slow  )

Any ideas?

The frame rate is 49.8 and not 50 so it slowly goes out of sync.

Make sure you don't convert the video to MP4. The video is now MP4 (not FLV as before) so no need to convert it.

I only convert the FLV files as I have to use Link Finder to get passed the AV sync issue

Hi Chris,

I just downloaded the latest pro version (setup_chrispc_videotube_downloader_pro_9_6_09) and noticed that the downloaded files are now MP4, rather than FLV.

Also noticed that the file size is roughly double the size. Is there any way to continue to download files at the old file size, without reducing the viewing quality.

cheers Peter

What BBC link you've tried?

You can select another lower bitrate, now the HD videos have 50 FPS.

Hi Chris,

not sure what you mean by the above.

When I import the file to the Downloader Pro, Select quality provides the following choices:

Video size: 1280 x 720,Bitrate: 5510kb/s
Video size: 960 x 540, Bitrate: 3117kb/s
Video size: 704 x 396, Bitrate: 1800kb/s
Video size: 704 x 396, Bitrate: 1013kb/s

It defaults to Video size: 1280 x 720, Bitrate: 5510kb/s – which I understood to be HD.

Are you saying that some of the other video sizes are also HD - can you tell me which one(s) are HD.

thanks for your help

cheers Peter
