ChrisTV was not tested yet under Vista (beta 2).
If your TV card has vista drivers you can try to see if ChrisTV works correctly under Vista.

EDIT :
ChrisTV PVR version 5.00 and higher have improved support for Windows Vista.

Hi,

I have used ChrisTV Lite 4.9 on Windows XP SP2 without any problems. Since I made the upgrade to Windows Vista Beta 2, ChrisTV does not work anymore.

2 error messages appear in this order:

- Invalid Class String
Do you want to continue running ChrisTV?

- Access violation at address 00582BC3 in module 'ChrisTV.exe'. Read of address 0000031C
Do you want to continue running ChrisTV?

When forced to run ChrisTV, it just shows a black window. But ChrisTV remains responsive and all properties can be accessed. In Driver Settings (Basic Settings), there arent any Capture Sources found.

I have tried the compatibility patch, which was actually intended for compatibility with processors equipped with and using HyperThreading. I have also tried using the compatibility modes, which also didn't work.

I suppose ChrisTV can't be used with vista beta 2 at this moment.

Using Amcap i can switch channels and watch them with audio. No problems there, but im using windows XP drivers (since hercules does not have any vista drivers, and I doubt there ever will be for my tuner card). The log is shown below. Looking at the log there also seems to be sound problems when loading ChrisTV.

ChrisTV 4.95 has been tested successfully on Windows Vista beta 2.

The 2 errors described here :
http://forum.chris-tv.com/index.php?sho ... ost&p=9138
are because of an invalid GUID in windows registry, until this will be fixed by Microsoft , the invalid GUID must be modified.

Attached you can find a zipped registry import file which will delete the current invalid key and create it again using correct value.

Also if you have set ChrisTV Agent to be launched on Windows start you will receive an error message, you should disable autolaunch of ChrisTV Agent and there will be no error message.

EDIT :
ChrisTV PVR version 5.00 and higher have improved support for Windows Vista.

I tested ChrisTV 4.99 pro with Vista RTM. Working, but sound managing is not correct. Volume settings and managing please rework, because volume not changeable with Vista new volume mixer. Please fix it!
Thanks!
