What is the BT8x8 Grapler Driver used for?

When does it need to be installed?

Thanks

As described on the download page :
BT8x8 Driver Grappler for MSP (Micronas Sound Processor Chip) support
Works only with this TV Cards : Pinnacle PCTV PRO, STB TV PCI, Hauppauge WinTV/MSP or ATI TV Wonder !

Install this driver only if you want to have some special sound processing and one of this TV Cards : Pinnacle PCTV PRO, STB TV PCI, Hauppauge WinTV/MSP or ATI TV Wonder.

If you have installed btwincap wdm driver then you do not need to install BT8x8 Driver Grappler.

Thank you for the quick response. I look forward to evaluating your product. I have a Pinnacle PCTV Pro, so I will try the grapler driver.

I know that this is a very old thread, but I have a PCTV Pro card, and I probably need to download BT8x8 Driver Grappler for MSP.

Right know, I just installed Windows 7, and my card is not working well (I installed Chris Tv and image quality is fine, but I have no sound). Here is a link to the thread I created with the .log file: http://forum.chris-pc.com/index.php?showtopic=7472

What I would like to know is where I can download this BT8x8 Driver Grappler from??? I can't find it.

I just found the driver, I installed, but when I try to enable the "TV Tuner Card Has Micronas Sound Processor Chip" option, I get an error message "Error Loading Device driver WinDrvr.sys", and after that a second error message "Cannot Load BT8x8 Driver".

I tried uninstalling and re-installing ChrisTv, but I still get the same error.

Any suggestions?
