CPU Usage Theater 550

Hi

I have troubles with my Powercolor Ati Theater Pro 550.
With the bundled sw, (power Cinema) , I have high cpu usage of 60-80 %. When recording it jumps to 100%, and heavily dropping frames. With Christv 4.90 I have a cpu usage 40- 60 %, when recording is up to 80 %. I reinsalled windows (os , only drivers, Power cinema , and Chris tv), and the situation is the same. Before reinstalling OS, I unplugged X-fi, SATA drives, desabled some unnecesary things in bios, such firewire, but no luck. I don't belive this is a norml situation with Theater pro 550, becouse of the encoding power of the Ati chipset.

Gigabyte K8N pro sli, 1 giga ram (geil), athlon 64 3000+,Leadtek Geforce 6600 GT.

Do you have some ideeas what could be wrong?

without using some dscaler or ffdshow settings, the image is very interlaced and fuzzy, and couldn't be cable problem, becouse my previous tv tuner (DV2000) had a very nice picture.

Please attach ChrisTV.log file.

Also make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your TV card and graphic card.

Please note, that sound card is just being desabled, so it is normal that there is "no sound evice" error in the log.
And please let me know, without using deinterlace filters, what should be the "normal " cpu usage for this card....

Dezactiveaza functia de LivePreview si alege MPEG Audio/Video decoders cele de la Cyberlink.

Le-am dezactivat.
Daca nu activez nici overlay, nici vmr9, am o imagine foarte clara, iar ocupatia cpu e pe la 20 %. Cu VMR , nu am imagine, iar cu overlay imagiena sacadeaza si CPU urca la 40 %.
Am rama neagra in jurul imaginii , cam de 1 cm, care nu reusesc sa scot nicicum.Cpu usge de 80 % e normal la tunerul acesta? Ca cei de la emag (tunarul a fost schimbat deja o data) mi-au propus sa-mi dea banii inapoi. Merita pastrat sau sa aleg o alta solutie?

Ocupatia CPU ar trebui sa fie ~20%.
Problema pare sa fie cu driverele placi video, incearca alta versiune de driver.

o observatie interesanta. Am instalat media player classic, l-am conectat la Ati theater pro , prinde niste programe, (nu am gasit optiune de cautare), dar nici nu este un tv tuner player.... ocuatia procesorului insa este FOARTE mic, in jur la 3-5 % cu cool'n'quiet (1000 mhz). E tare interesant......

Tocmai am platit pt licenta, astept activarea..

E cel mai bun player folosit pana acum.

cand activez Time shiftingul, si umblu "back'n'forward" sunetul nu se mai sincronizeaza cu imaginea....

O alta observatie, daca tot am deschis topicul acesta pt "cpu usage".
In mod normal am o ocupatie de 25-35 % (cu cool'n'quiet - 1000 mhz) , dar cand activez time shiftingul, sau HW mpeg recording, ocupatia cade la 10 - 15 %. E tare interesant. Parca atunci merge tunerul cu capacitatea lui maxima.
Se poate seta cumva ca time shiftingul sa fie activat automat , cand pornesc programul?

ps2. legat de time shifting... cand schimb canalele, osd ul arata ca de fapt schimb canalele , dar ramene pe acelasi post.

Trebuie sa fie setate ca MPEG Video/Audio decoders cele de la Cyberlink sau Intervideo.

In legatura cu CPU usage, daca livepreview mode e OFF atunci bitrateul folosit pt preview este maxim ~ 12 Mbps, iar pt timeshifting ~ 9 Mbps.

Daca e setat Ciberlink SHEX, am problema prezentata la timeshifting. Cu pcm4 merge perfect.
Filtrul audio poate sa fie si cel de ffdshow, ca nu deranjeaza, si mai am si niste tweakuri aditionale
