I wonder why ChrisTV standard defaults to splitting MPEG files into 4GB pieces?

What if I don't want pieces?

Is this a limitation of Standard to make me buy Pro?

The size doesn't even match the 4483 MB of a DVD... it also means I can't make seamless recordings of films, etc. When I stitch the MPEG files together I get a jump in picture and sound.

Only in Professional version you can adjust the File Split size for software MPEG recording.
The 4 GB limit file size is due to the filesystem of the recording drive - FAT32.
If your drive has NTFS filesystem there should be no limit in filesize.

Ok, that's weird. All my drives are NTFS (I just checked), but ChrisTV still splits my MPEG recordings.

Yes, you said that.

But you also said that Chris-TV standard shouldn't split files on NTFS drives.

All my drives are NTFS, so why is it splitting them? What can I do about it?

All software MPEG recording presets have a filesplit size set.

Please check your PM.

I used MpackPro (http://www.ordix.com/mpack/) to put the splitted mpeg files togehter, and you can't recognize, they were merged.
